Frequently Asked Questions About Rack Sack

Where can I find Rack Sack products?

Rack Sack products are available for purchase directly on our website, where you can browse our full range of wire frame and refill bags with secure online ordering and fast shipping. For in-store shopping, look for Rack Sack wire frames and refill bags at select retailers across Canada, including major chains like Canadian Tire and Home Hardware.

Is it easy to install Rack Sack wire frames?

Absolutely! Installing a Rack Sack wire frame is straightforward and requires minimal tools—typically just a screwdriver. Each kit includes clear, step-by-step instructions with five simple stages: measuring your cupboard door, marking screw positions, attaching the backer plate, hooking the frame, and testing the setup.

For visual learners, we offer a free online video tutorial that demonstrates the entire process in under 5 minutes. No advanced DIY skills are needed, and most users complete installation in 10-15 minutes.

Once installed, your Rack Sack will provide a clutter-free, organized space under your sink, making waste disposal easier and more efficient.

Is there anything I should pay attention to while installing Rack Sack wire frames?

How can I keep my Rack Sack lid open during use?

If your Rack Sack lid isn’t staying open as designed, a minor adjustment can fix it quickly:

  1. Identify the pivot arm—the metal rod that allows the lid to rotate.
  2. Using pliers or vice grips, gently bend the pivot arm slightly back toward the cupboard door. This increases tension and helps the lid hold its position. Test the lid after the adjustment. This tweak is tool-free beyond the pliers and takes seconds. If issues persist, it could be due to installation alignment—refer to our video tutorial or reach out for personalized support.

Can I use Rack Sack refill bags in other waste bins?

Yes,Rack Sack refill bags are versatile and can be used in any waste bin that matches their capacity (e.g., 15L or 21L). Their durable, leak-proof design makes them ideal for standard kitchen bins, office trash cans, or even outdoor use. However, for the best fit and security, we recommend using them with Rack Sack wire frames, where the built-in handles lock into place seamlessly.

Can I use other brands’ refills inside Rack Sack wire frames?

While it’s possible to try other brands, we strongly recommend sticking with official Rack Sack refill bags for optimal performance. Our bags feature specially designed handles that hook securely onto the wire frame’s side hooks, preventing slippage and ensuring a mess-free experience. Generic or other-brand bags often lack these handles, leading to instability, leaks, or bags falling out during use. Using non-compatible bags may void your warranty, so for reliability and ease, choose Rack Sack refills available in rolled or boxed formats on our site.

The 15 L rolled refill bags seem too small for my rack. Am I doing something wrong?

Not necessarily—our new Rack Sack frame is adjustable to accommodate two popular sizes for flexibility:
5 Gallon (21 Liter): This is the recommended size for the best fit and maximum capacity. Hook the Lower Bag Support (LBS) onto the lower crossbar during installation.
3 Gallon (15 Liter): For smaller spaces or lighter use, hook the LBS onto the higher crossbar (closest to the main keyhole backer plate). If the 15L bag still feels too small, double-check your adjustment and ensure the frame is set correctly. Bonus tip: The 15L bags are also fully compatible with our Super Compact Rack model, offering versatility across our product line. If you’re unsure, watch our sizing guide video or contact support.

Why doesn’t the new Rack Sack lid stay open? Do you still sell the old model with the light lid and no storage compartment?

We discontinued the older Rack Sack model, which featured a lightweight lid without a storage compartment, to introduce an upgraded version with enhanced durability and functionality. The new lid is sturdier and includes a built-in storage section, making it more practical for everyday use.

If the new lid isn’t staying open, try this easy fix:

Locate the pivot arm (the metal component the lid rotates on).

Use pliers or vice grips to gently bend it back toward the cupboard door, creating the necessary tension. This adjustment resolves the issue for most users. For further assistance, check our troubleshooting guide or reach out to our team—we’re here to help ensure your Rack Sack works perfectly.
